Thyngs

Software Update - My Thyngs v2.2 (Dec 16th 2016)

An update to My Thyngs was made on 16th December

So what’s new in this release …

Welcome page
My Thyngs now has a brand new initial landing page. This will be the first page you see after setting up an account!
This will guide you through the steps needed to create a thyngs enabled object. Once a 'step' is completed, if you return to this page you will see the completed tasks as ticked off, and can use the orange button to navigate to the next task.
Once all tasks are completed you can use the side menu to explore their thyngs and projects etc.

User Dropdown
We now have a more detailed user menu!
The previously Acount page has been split up into several easier to digest pages :
-          Welcome page – so you can get back to track your progress.
-          Account settings   where the your user details can be changed as usual
-          Change password – come here to change your password
-          Payment setup  –  take live payments for donations

Payment setup page
The payment setup page is used to explain the payment setup process and make the process of setting up payment clearer.
This page now serves a single purpose of explaining how payments can be set up and what the terminal key is for, with links to the payment experience provider – who can help to set up your merchant account.
The page can also be used to update the terminal key after it has been set.

ID cards
The id card generator has been updated. The front of the card has been redesigned to allow to be used for more purposes.

Nearby API
The Nearby API ( the maps within the apps) will return the nearest 30 thyngs to you from either a public Project or a thyng that you have previously interacted with.
It will also avoid showing interactions that have occurred at Thyngs HQ (which may bloat the results) unless there are absolutely no other results available.

API changes - Beacons and Messages
You will only ever get beacon notifications from a single beacon once. No more spam! An owner of a beacon can reset this setting so the user who interacts with it after will get the message once again.
Previously users would also get messages from a thyng even if they interacted with it after the message was sent. It has now been corrected so messages are only sent to the users who interacted with thyngs before the message was sent.
