Software update MyThyngs V2.9 24th March 2017

Hi All.

Another week, another software release.

We have some very interesting publishes this time round so have a read and go explore.

Stripe and Apple Pay

Probably the best feature of this release, Apple Pay has been added as a payment option for accepting donations. This will be available to you if you have set up a Stripe account to accept donations, no further setup required! Apple pay donations will show up in your stripe account alongside other donations.

The Apple Pay experience makes the donation processes only take a couple of seconds and still allow for Gift Aid to be added!

To Apple users, the option is available in the dropdown of payment options within our Checkout page and should be set as default when they visit the page.

If you are a returning donator, you might find that the "Card Payment" option is your default due to selecting it last time.

Not to worry though, using Apple Pay this time round will save it for future donations.

Worldpay Experience

We have made some changes to the Worldpay donation process some of you may have already set up. There have been some styling modifications to the success page the user will see after completing a donation. We hope this will make it a quicker process.

Faster Redirects

We have optimised the speed it takes for your users to be redirected to your website or social media page if you have used a Redirect type template for your page.

Not getting too technical, we are simply jumping past a few loops and just going directly to the page you have defined on our platform.

This change is currently only available on browsers but hope to have it running on apps soon so you can have a more pleasant experience.

Progressive Web Apps

A small part of a big universe, we have added Progressive Web App to our arsenal.

A relatively new creation from Google, Progressive Web Apps allow your users to download your thyng pages to their home screen almost like an app. When visiting a page they will see a notification asking if they would like to add it to their home screen. Following this, they can access the page at any point, without having to tap or scan anything!

Currently this feature is only available for our Trail pages but we aim to have this it available on all thyng pages as soon as possible.

Extras

Small bugs and fixes around the platform have also been done

Thank you very much for listening.

The Dev Team.
